As I’ve always been left-handed I cannot of course speak authoritatively for what Right Handers think but as far as I know us left-handers have the left and right hand parts of our brains as fairly equal partners, this means we often get a wretched inner debate before we can ever decide on a course of an action. Right handers just think and do. Us left-handers on the other hand are renouned for being more artistic etc etc.

The reason I’m blogging this is that this morning I was going to take a kitchen utensil we never use to a thrift shop, and then right at the last moment I start dithering well may be we might use it one day blah blah. So any way it’s still sitting in our garage as it has done for 2 years. Annoying!

Curiously a report released today by Abertay University states

People who are left-handed are more likely to get anxious or feel shy or embarrassed about doing or saying what they want, according to new research.

Those involved in the Abertay University study were given a behavioural test that gauges personal restraint and impulsiveness.

Researchers found left-handers tended to agree more with statements such as “I worry about making mistakes.”

They also agreed that “criticism or scolding hurts me quite a bit.”

In total, 46 left-handed people were compared with 66 right-handers.

‘Wiring differences’

The left-handers scored higher when it came to inhibition, especially when a situation was new or unusual. Women were also more held back than men.
