There is also the disputed double-entendre supposedly spoken by legendary Cricket Commentator Brian Johnson was “The bowler’s Holding, the batsman’s Willey”.

We all have poignant fragments of memories, memories of memories of vacations and happy days that occurred in our infancy. These are our "Shell Beach" nearly forgotten memories of long past perfect days.

Dark City is a 1998 Science Fiction film which though not a success has gradually gained cult status. In a dark brooding sun-less city everyone has fond memories of Shell Beach but when questioned is unable to say where it is. I don’t want to spoil Dark City (Director’s Cut) for you too much, but our own yearnings for Shell Beaches usually originate from fleeting memories of family vacations that occurred in our infancy.

These memories are so poignant because small children are so easy to please, sun, sand, sea, and bright gaudy toys our every need catered for by younger still energetic parents.

You occasionally will get a tantalizing flashback of your “Temps Perdu” when you see a certain color, or texture or see small children playing.

This perhaps explains some of those unexplained yearnings and flashbacks (Amelie Dreams). Go ask your parents while you can about these times.

Serendipity and coincidence decide much more of our life that we care to admit. Without them our lives would be much duller.

Today I’ve started a Squidoo Lens on Serendipity . Serendipity and coincidence decide much more of our life than we care to admit. Without them our lives would be much duller.

The word Serendipity was coined by Horace Walpole, who says (1754) that he had formed it upon the title of the fairy-tale ‘The Three Princes of Serendip‘, the heroes of which ‘were always making discoveries, by accidents and sagacity, of things they were not in quest of’.

Someone else spouted “Serendipity ; Look for something, find something else, and realize that what you’ve found is more suited to your needs than what you thought you were looking for”.

I am excited about the break through that I know Serendipity will bring me, how do I know? It’s because I’m proactively looking and waiting for that crucial opportunity, so I’ll be ready to take full advantage of it.

It was similar when Babe Ruth’s record was finally beaten it somehow puts these legends a bit more into the shadow. Perhaps they should bring in a system where the record is retired, like when the shirt number of a great player is retired.

Dr Who has taken the ancient concept of "Music of the Spheres" literally and why not and "David Tennant" has written his own Ode to the Universe for the marvellous Doctor Who Proms 2008 .

Musica universalis (lit. universal music, or music of the spheres) is an ancient philosophical concept that regards proportions in the movements of celestial bodies – the Sun, Moon, and planets – as a form of musica (the Medieval Latin name for music). This ‘music’ is not literally audible, but simply a harmonic and/or mathematical concept (Quote Wikipedia).

Dr Who has taken the concept literally and why not and “David Tennant” has written his own Ode to the Universe for the marvellous Doctor Who Proms 2008 .

You can see all this on YouTube along with versions of “Music of the Spheres” by The Clangers, Mike Oldfield and a version of Outer Limits .

Writing in The Times, Caitlin Moran said that the Doctor’s homily to music and self-expression was “the most affecting moment” in the Prom, bringing “what could have been a wonderful, yet surreal and overwhelming introduction to orchestral music” down to “a rather lovely question. Did you like this orchestra, kids? What would you do with one? (Wikipedia Quote)

Try to see the whole Prom still on the Red Button on UK Freeview

In the past two years I’ve multiplied my success opportunities which I list here in my success diary and I’ve gradually built up dozens of passive income streams, vastly increased my online real estate and started to earn a decent online income. What hasn’t happened yet is that I haven’t had any runaway success , you know something that just takes off explodes. So what twist or twinkle do I have to add to my businesses or business methods to achieve this? What turn of phrase added to a slice of luck will do it? Two developments recently I’ve been studying NLP with Chris Grimshaw, I’ve also been studying the process of Idea Creation which I have blogged here . So I’m putting all the chances on my side and looking forward to 2009 with gusto.

Suddenly there’s this tune going round in your head, it’s even more infuriating if you can’t remember what it was, well now scientists think they know how that happens.

Scientists may have found what makes a tune catchy, after locating the brain area where a song’s “hook” gets caught.

A US team from Dartmouth College, reported in the journal Nature, played volunteers tunes with snippets cut out.

They scanned for brain activity and found it centred in the auditory cortex – which handles information from ears.

When familiar tunes played, the cortex activity continued during the blanks – and the volunteers indeed said they still mentally “heard” the tunes.

Catchy songs

Researchers have previously argued that catchy songs work by causing a “brain itch” that can only be scratched by repeating the tune.

Our brains are marvellous things I love learning about their possibilities

It’s because you attach no importance to it, yet knowing a few (safe) jokes can help break the ice in a social or business situation. It’s also because you were never taught jokes at school or punished for not doing your joke homework.

This is another example of how you are not doing something because you weren’t programmed to do it. You need to break out of that mold.

(print out this list of a Man walked into a Bar jokes and keep in your wallet or purse)

A Man walks into a bar and says ouch

A guy walks into a bar. The guy behind him ducks. (This took me a while to understand)

A fish walks into a bar and the bartender says: “What do you want?” The fish croaks “water.” (You must really croak this)

A cowboy walks into a bar, dressed entirely in paper and gets arrested for rustling.

A man and giraffe walk into a bar and get totally faceless drunk. The giraffe passes out and man gets up to leave. Barman says “you can’t leave that lying (lion) there.” Man says “it’s not a lion it’s a giraffe.”

This horse walks into a bar and the bartender says “Hey, buddy, why the long face…

A gorilla walks into a bar and orders a cold one. The bartender gives it to him and says “that’ll be $25.” A minute later making conversation the bartender says “We don’t get many gorillas round these parts” The gorilla replies”I’m not surprised at those prices..”

A man walked into a bar and sat down next to a man with a dog at his feet. “Does your dog bite?” he asked. “No.” was the reply. A few minutes later the dog took a huge chunk out of his leg. “I thought you said your dog doesn’t bite!” the man said indignantly. “That’s not my dog.” was the answer…

A termite walks into a bar and says, “Is the bar tender here?”

A Bear walks into a bar and asks for “A …………….. Beer” The Barman says why the long PAUSE , the Bear shows him his PAWS and says I was born that way!
